Moving Weekend!

Well it's finally here...moving weekend! I have almost all my stuff packed up. I still have a little more to do tonight though. The big move will happen Saturday or Sunday, depending on the rain. Then the unpacking fun begins...yay.

Chicken Little

A joke I enjoyed....

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little
to her class. She came to the part of the story where Chicken Little tried
to warn the farmer. She read, ".... and so Chicken Little went up to the
farmer and said, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!"
The teacher paused then asked the class, "And what do you think that farmer
said?"
One little girl raised her hand and said, "I think he said: 'Holy Shit! A
talking chicken!'"
The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

Curtain Rods

Here's a silly joke...being a woman I find it extra hilarious!!

Curtain Rods
She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases. On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things. On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay. When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells, dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything; cleaning and mopping and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned.

Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked. People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the house. The maid quit...

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move. A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out, and eventually, even the local Realtors refused to return their calls. Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man, and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely, and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back...

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth...But only if she were to sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later, the man and his new girlfriend stood smirking as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home... including the curtain rods...

boring

As you can see, I still don't have much to say. It's been a long week and somewhat boring. I'll try to find something fun to post, that is my goal for the afternoon.

Go Tigers!

Saturday I went to see the Detroit Tigers play. It was a perfect day, warm and sunny...and they Won! 11-1!

Other than that, I don't have much more to say today. I'm pretty tired and had a massive headache this morning and didn't make it into work until noon. Damn those headaches!

Yay for Spring!

Yesterday was another awesome day in Michigan. I think it got up to 75 or something cause I actually got hot driving around and I almost turned on the AC in my car. Last night I sat on the deck of Scott's apartment and read my magazine and listened to some good rock music and I was so happy! It's so great just doing nothing and enjoying the nice weather. I also made a kick ass roast with potatoes and the fixins! After that I baked a cake cause it's Scott's Mom's birthday today and we are going over there tonight. Should be another nice night to chill outside as well. Yay for Spring!

My blanket rocks!

So last night me and Danielle went to two different fabric stores. We both found what we wanted at the second store. We went back to her house and started on mine. I guess they usually take about an hour. The blanket was pretty easy and fun. It turned out really cool and I'm excited to make more! I'll post pictures of mine and hers soon!

The weather has been so beautiful here in Grand Rapids this week. Yesterday was about mid 70's and today is going to be high 60's. I guess it's supposed to rain but I don't care, it's still warm. I've been walking everyday and I feel more energized already. I even bought fruit instead of fatty chips at the grocery store, go me! I really hope to lose some weight before I have to wear my bathing suit. So really I have two months or so. It doesn't usually get to beach weather here until mid June anyway.

Crafts

Tonight I am going out with my friend Danielle to a craft/hobby store. I don't usually get into the crafty stuff, but as I get older I realize I need some kind of hobby to keep me busy. Life usually keeps me busy but there are days that I get bored. So tonight we are going to look around and get some ideas. We are also going to make fleece blankets. So I am going to buy some fleece and see how all this works. I think it'll be fun, and not boring! I'll have to update you on it later this week and take some pictures. We plan to continue our craftiness on Saturday! Yay!

Shop till you run out of money

My last post was shop till you drop....well I never dropped, just ran out of money. We shopped from 8am to 2pm so that was long enough....and enough time to spend the amount of money I had. I don't even know what I got but I got a ton of stuff that filled up my whole trunk and part of my car. It was quite fun! I wish I could do shopping spree's like that more often!

Shop till you drop!

Tomorrow is going to be a fantastic shopping day. I have saved up a good amount of money to spend on new spring/summer clothes! I'm so excited! I'm not the type of girl that goes to the mall or clothes store much. I enjoy it but I never have the money. So instead, I save for a few months, then take a whole day and spend spend spend! So tomorrow my Mom and I are getting a good breakfast at 7:30am and starting our shop till you drop day right after that. Have a good weekend!
